Ocean Plastic

The ocean covers two thirds of the planet and absorbs most of its abuse. Max swam in it every chance he got. We support this because the sea isn't scenery to us. It's home.

8 million tons of plastic enter the ocean every year. At current rates it outweighs all fish by 2050. Collection at coastal choke points remains the cheapest kilogram-for-kilogram intervention available.

Rainforest

A football field disappears every second, and no technology replaces a 400-year-old canopy. We support this because protection is 10× cheaper than restoration — and permanent.

Rainforests hold half of Earth's species on 6% of its land. Buying and titling threatened acres to indigenous stewardship is the most durable protection mechanism measured to date.

Animal Welfare

This one isn't strategic. Max spent his life on an operating table more often than any dog should, and was cared for every single time. We support this because he was somebody's patient once, too.

Over 115 million animals are used in laboratory testing each year. Funding rescue, rehoming and non-animal testing methods measurably reduces that number.

Clean Water

One in ten people can't drink safely. It is the single most fixable large problem on Earth — the engineering is a solved century-old question of wells and filters. We support this because it only lacks money, and money is the one thing a t-shirt can generate.

$40 gives one person clean water for life. Waterborne disease remains the leading killer of children under five.

Education

258 million children have no school. Every other cause on this page gets easier to fix when they do. We support this because it's the only donation that compounds.

Each additional year of schooling raises lifetime earnings by roughly 10% and measurably improves health outcomes for the next generation.

Humanitarian Aid

Most problems on this page move slowly. War doesn't — it undoes schools, wells and coastlines overnight. We support this because everything else we fund depends on people surviving the week.

More than 110 million people are displaced by conflict right now. Emergency food and shelter remain the most cost-effective way to keep one crisis from becoming five.
