About
I'm Mikkel Staksrud Haslekås. I built anyway. after my dog died.
That's the short version, and it's true. The longer version is that Max spent nine years showing up for the people around him despite a body that kept letting him down — and when he was gone, I couldn't think of a better instruction to follow.
I look at the world the way most people my age do. The ocean is filling with plastic. Forests burn. Somewhere along the way we all quietly agreed it was someone else's problem. I don't think despair is a plan. I don't think optimism is either. Showing up is a plan.
So this is the deal: I make clothing I'd actually wear, you buy it, and the money goes — traceably, receipt by receipt — to fixing specific things. No foundation with my name on it. No gala dinners. A dog's work ethic, applied.

Every purchase funds a verified, traceable donation to a specific cause. Not a percentage of profits, calculated later, somewhere — a receipt, written the moment you buy. All of it public, all of it on the Proof page.

Fashion produces around 10% of global carbon emissions — more than all flights and shipping combined. Textile dyeing is the world's second-largest polluter of water. Roughly 75 million people make the world's clothes; very few of them earn a living wage. The industry is broken on purpose, because broken is cheap. We're proving it doesn't have to be.
A clothing brand built intentionally can keep dye out of rivers, pay for wells and classrooms, support the communities that make it, and prove that nobody has to choose between wearing something good and doing something good. That's the whole point of doing two things at once.
